The Truth Is....
I never thought that I would write a book. I hated writing in school, but I am glad that I was able to share some of my crazy and certainly entertaining stories. I remember as I was writing that I couldn’t wait to wake up and start a new chapter. I guess that’s the way that I feel in real life. Every morning I wake up, before getting out of bed I thank God that I have the opportunity to start a new chapter in my life. To do something that I have never done before, see something that I have never seen before.

I Love to travel. Seeing an alluring multi-colored sky, or water that is so clear you can see the floor from 100 feet above it, this always reminds me of how God made no mistakes when creating this wonderful place that we call earth. I find the beach to be the most majestic place on this planet. I can sit on the beach, listening, day dreaming, or sleeping all day and lose complete track of time.

What am I looking for in a spouse? I want it all. I am not in a rush, but I would like to be engaged in the next 2-3 years and married in the next 3 years give or take. What do I mean when I say that I want it all? I want some that is funny, has unconditional love for me and my family, a man that I can trust with my whole heart, great sex, the mansion on the hill, an equal attraction, and someone who already has kids. I don’t want to give birth ever again! Three is plenty.

The Truth is...
After reading literally hundreds of books on relationships, self-help, memoirs and spirituality, I knew that writing is what I wanted to do with my life.

Our book, Why Do I Have to Think Like a Man? was a blessing for us to complete. It was on our hearts and destined to be written. Over the past few years, my daughter Shanae and I have spent countless hours exploring all aspects of dating. We went through our own major trials, dating disasters "and aha moments". We interviewed people, talked to folks asking them direct questions to try and understand today's relationship paradigm. We also look at our own dating situations, past and present, those of our aquaintances, friends and family. We watched the news, listened to talk radio, read magazines and gathered information everywhere we could. Over this period of time, we were also fortunate enough to have some brutally honest men take us under their wings, sit us down and tell us the truth about what men think (imagine that). Then we sat down and began writing. The rest of it was "history" as they say.

Through it all, we have learned a lot and laughed a lot. What we know for sure, is that trying to figure out men, their games, what their words mean and where there hearts are is an excercise in futility at times. What we know for sure is that the only thing we can really control and fix, is ourselves and we must start by doing better. That means setting some honest dating standards & sticking to them also, we must work on staying healthy, keep our mind and spirit drama free and get real about the men we choose to date. We are confident that anyone reading this book will want to, not only talk about it, but immediately make some positive changes in their dating lives. The dating advice and stories here are good for the soul. If you are ready for real change and ready to reclaim your dating power, then this is a book you must get today! We hope it will be just as good for you as it was for us!
